Victoria will be in the international spotlight when the world's best cyclists converge on Melbourne and Geelong for the 2010 UCI Road World Championships next year, Victorian Premier John Brumby said today.

So far, Williamtown and Townsville have managed to organise on-base criteriums with the approval of base command types.

If you're interested in getting some running at your base, here's some "example" documentation that you can use to write your own version. It will hopefully help you get approval from your chain of command. For further information on the process, contact SGT Peter Miller at RAAF TVL...

Special Feature - how to categorize a climb...??? (Editor's note: found on the Thompson Cycling webpage, and posted by Randy. Transferred here as it's probably more useful as a long-term post).

Climbs in cycling are selected from Category 1 (hardest) to Category 4 (easiest), based on steepness and length. A climb harder than Category 1 is designated as hors catégorie. Hors catégorie translates as "beyond categorization", and signifies an extremely tough climb.
